Hey Everyone!
We’ve been getting a few members asking what they can do while we’re closed for our HUGE 1300sqft EXPANSION…
So we decided to bring up this option:
We have an index of 40 At-Home Workouts Requiring zero equipment on our website www.owensoundfitness.ca !
Each workout is written down and if you click the workout picture it will take you to a YouTube video of @burner_24 explaining and demonstrating that workout!

(Please just keep in mind these videos were filmed during lockdown for our small group training clients so they may be out dated and directed towards individuals in the video)
Here’s a little video demo with some points to share on Squats:
1. Brace your core. Don’t think crunch, this air into belly and tense as if someone is about to tickle or punch you in the stomach (all depends on your friendships for that one)
2. If you find you happen to squat uneven, forward lean too much (common issue), or heels come off the ground, try heel elevated. Personally, @burner_24 has a lack of mobility in one ankle, causing a knee and hip shift which is no bueno on the hips and spine, heel elevated helps that issue and the other issue of a lot of legggggggg length.
3. Watch the butt wink, if you don’t have a professional to help and critique your squat, film yourself (that’s originally why this video was taken, @burner_24 thought he had a butt wink and wanted to make sure he didn’t…luckily No Butt 😉 was present. But you would notice one if you saw a little rounding of the low back at the bottom of the squat.
4. Bar path. We’re on a little bit of an angle but the bar should be moving straight up and down with minimal forward of backwards movement. Decent bar path, but would like to see it a little smoother…but just getting back into squats after an mcl sprain a coupe months ago.
5. Try to get low, the lower you can go, the lower you’ll be able to go long term. But not everyone has to be able to squat ATG (ass to grass) but if you want to work all the muscles of your lower body, lower is better! DO NOT INDOOR IGNORE YOUR QUADS. A lot of people are afraid of knees going past toes due to old thought that it is bad for your knees. It’s not. Someone with legs this long will most often have to have forward knee travel…and a lot of people sit back too much on a squat and primarily use glutes and hamstrings vs really letting your knees bend and letting those quads get some work in.
